Elizabeth Herman
Elizabeth Herman (Betsy) recently completed a doctorate in Rhetoric and Composition. Her dissertation research investigated possible relationships between student writers' personal agency and a brief meditation practice used in a first-year composition classroom. The complete dissertation is titled "Supporting Student Writers' Personal Agency through Meditation in the Composition Classroom: An Exploratory Study."
Her many diverse interests, in wellness, natural healing, writing, the healing science of Ayurveda, vegetarian cuisine, organic farming, education, rhetoric, media and spirituality, etc., all supply fertile ground for her continued written work.
Other than publishing on Suite 101, she has published several poems, one short story for children, one biographical article and one scholarly article. She runs a blog for her business, Vital Writer Services, and she holds regular sessions on contemplative writing in her home. She has two children.
